IELTS stand for International English Language Testing system

It is Band system test. There are 9 total band. For study VISA every country and university demand different bands, but normally if candidate achieve 5.5 bands in all 4 modules then easily can apply for study VISA.

Academic IELTS consist of 4 modules.

  1. Speaking (About 15 to 18 minutes|)
  2. Listening (30 to 45 minutes)
  3. Reading (1 Hour)
  4. Writing (1 Hour)

Speaking

Speaking is typically take 15 to 18 minutes. it has 2 parts

  1. Introduction Questions (5 to 7)
  2. Cue Card (A specific topic on which candidate speaks for 1 to 2 minutes)
  3. Fallow up question (3 to 5)

Listening

In listening test a candidate needs to complete 40 questions by listening audio related to questions. Questions consist of

  1. Form, note, table, flow-chart, summary completion.
  2. Plan, map, diagram labelling.
  3. Matching.
  4. Multiple choices.
  5. Sentence completion.
  6. Short answer question.

Reading

Reading test also has 40 question and time is allowed 1 hour. A candidate has to answer the question by reading 3 passage which are generally based on scientific research. These questions are

  1. Match the headings
  2. True False or Not Given
  3. Yes No or Not Given
  4. Matching Paragraph information
  5. Summary Completion
  6. Sentence Completion
  7. Diagram Completion
  8. MCQs
  9. List selection
  10. Choosing a title
  11. Short Answer Question

Writing

This has 2 tasks. Task 1 is to write at least 150 words on Graph, Chart, Map or Diagram. Task 2 is easy writing in easy writing candidates have to write minimum 250 words on a specific given situation.
